These plant derived minerals come from a ancient prehistoric rain forest (South Central Utah) full of plant life; shrubberies, animals, etc. and the soils at that time contained up to 77 different minerals.  Therefore, the plants grown there also had 77 minerals.  What happened anciently was a volcanic eruption which covered this valley with a thin layer of mud, ash, and lava; forming a kind of rock shell over top of it becoming a protective layer.  It prevented this organic material from petrifying. 

It's in a material called, humic shell.  When touched, it crumbles.  If you put it under a microscope; you could see all the plants and twigs.  What they do is mine that material and set it in vats and fill it with filtered spring water; just letting it soak.  And these minerals because they are plant form they naturally bind with the water - making them part of the water...very different from a metallic mineral which you have to grind into a powder then try to get it into a small enough partial and try to get it suspended into the water.  Because of their small size, the plant minerals stay suspended naturally in water; they are hydrophilic mineral suppose to a rock mineral which is hydrophobic.  Hydrophilic means they are hungry for water, and they naturally bind and attach themselves to the water molecule - the water actually gains density.

When it reaches a specific certain density, they know how much mineral is in that water.  After about 6-9 weeks they start filtering it.  Filter one: to get out all the debris.  Filter two: to remove any mineral that may have petrified.  Filter three: a force fed filter which is 0.5 micron in size.  To give you an idea....if you'd take a standard water molecule from tap water and force it through a phone directory!  Anything larger than pure water or plant derived minerals does not end up in the bottle.  So the base product we end up with is a PURE liquid plant derived minerals & water. 

Note:  

Metallic minerals alone only have an absorbency of about 3%.

Chelated minerals are just metallic minerals with an amino acid or protein or enzyme wrapped around the metal atom, to increase the absorbability to 40%.
