How long should a diffuser be used at a time?

• In the home, a diffuser may be used for any length of time from five minutes to continuous use. 

• Short periods of 5 to 15 minutes are recommended for those experiencing oils for the first time.

• In large offices or commercial areas, use the diffuser for 15 to 30 minutes at a time until everyone in the area becomes acquainted with the oils.  At that time, it may be left to run continuously.

How Much Oil Is Used in Diffusing?

• Thicker oils, such as sandalwood or Valor, will diffuse more slowly than thinner ones, such as lavender or lemon.  One 15 ml bottle of Valor will completely diffuse within 48 hours.  A 15 ml bottle of lemon will diffuse with 8 hours.

• You may leave a bottle of thicker oil upside down on the well because it diffuses slowly.  Thinner oils should be poured directly into the well because they diffuse quickly, and you can have greater control of the amount of oil used.
